Taras Hryhorovych Shevchenko, also known as Kobzar, was an Ukrainian poet, writer, artist, public and political figure, as well as folklorist and ethnographer. National hero and symbol of Ukraine.
Taras Shevchenko Homeland National Reserve is a historical and cultural reserve in Zvenigorodka district of Cherkasy region, created to preserve Shevchenko’s memorial sites.
Acquaintance with the National Reserve was part of the activities foreseen in both programs of meetings and related to cultural exchange between countries, which aimed to foster mutual understanding through awareness of the cultural and social values of both countries of Ukraine and Germany.
